If you're looking for me today, I'll be the kitty by the pool with a pink cocktail in one hand, a bubblegum phone in the other, and absolutely no intention of behaving.

Summer in Second Life isn't measured in temperatures. It's measured in how many inflatables you can fit into one garden before someone asks if you've perhaps gone a little overboard. The answer, naturally, is no. There's always room for one more unicorn.

I'm not entirely sure who I'm talking to on my fabulously retro pink phone.

Maybe I'm ordering another cocktail. Maybe I'm telling my bestie that the pool party started without them. Maybe I'm pretending it's a very important business call. Whilst casually ignoring every single responsibility in my inventory. "Sorry... can't talk... I'm fully booked being adorable." 

Now if you'll excuse me... my phone is ringing again. It's probably the unicorn complaining that nobody invited him into the pool.

Kitten Cuddles on the Go

Curled together on the back seat, my wife rested against my shoulder while I leaned my head gently against hers. Our ears peeked out from under our hair, tails tucked comfortably behind us, creating one of those quiet moments every couple knows. The kind where words aren't necessary because simply being close is enough.

What I enjoyed most was how naturally our avatars fit together. The head tilt, the relaxed posture, and the subtle closeness create the feeling of two people who have shared countless adventures together. As neko avatars, our little feline touches add an extra layer of charm without stealing the spotlight from our connection.

Candy-Coloured Chaos

Guess which one happened to me.  The second I slipped these chunky white platforms onto my paws, it was over. Absolutely over. The pom poms alone deserve their own fan club. They bounce around with the chaotic energy of hyperactive neko kittens after too much catnip, and honestly? I respect that.

I built the whole outfit around them because once your shoes look this cute, resistance is futile. Rainbow leggings? Necessary. Pink crop top? Obviously. Frozen strawberry drink? Emotional support slushie. By the time I parked myself in this flower-covered garden corner, I looked less like a fashion blogger and more like a magical candy shop mascot who escaped into the grid.

No regrets.

Honestly? The Kite Was Third Wheel

It started as one of those golden-hour ideas that feel spontaneous yet somehow land perfectly. The kind when the light is soft, the air is warm, and everything around you hums as if it knows you’re about to make a memory worth keeping. We didn’t plan much—just a walk along the sand, a little laughter, maybe a few snapshots if the mood struck. 

She brought the kite. Of course she did. It was bright, unapologetically so—rainbow panels catching the last stretch of sunlight as if it had something to prove. And the moment it lifted into the sky, tugging at the string in her hand, it became the centre of everything. Higher, brighter, louder than either of us. I swear it even stole the breeze just to show off. 

I tried not to roll my eyes, but I’m pretty sure she caught me. We walked anyway. Barefoot in places, careful in others, weaving between patches of grass and the soft dip of sand under our feet. She kept glancing up at the kite, smiling. As if it were performing just for her. I was right next to her. “Still with me?” I teased at one point.

Bun Intended

I brought a book with me. Not because I expected to read much of it, but because I love the idea of reading outdoors. There’s something about holding a story while sitting inside another one. My avatar settled gracefully, legs tucked to the side, the picture of calm I rarely achieve anywhere else. 

I did read, eventually. A few pages at a time, pausing more often than not. My eyes wandered. To the shifting light filtering through branches. To the slow dance of shadows across the blanket. To the horizon, where the sky seemed to stretch a little further than usual, like it had taken a deep breath.

Second Life has always been a place of creation, but days like this feel like quiet collaboration. The builders made the meadow, yes. The scripters made the breeze possible. But I bring the stillness. I bring the pause. I bring the decision to sit here, to exist gently for a while.

At one point, I lay back fully, book forgotten on my chest, watching petals fall past my field of vision. For a second, I couldn’t tell if I was logging into a world or remembering one.

Destination: Us.

There is something delicious about planning a vacation when your passport is a teleport button, and your suitcase is an inventory folder titled “Maybe.” This week, we decided to plan our first getaway together in Second Life, and somehow it turned into a full runway rehearsal with sunburn optional. “So,” he said, sliding closer, his avatar brushing mine in that gentle pixel sway, “where are we going?”

Planning in Second Life feels less like logistics and more like dream sculpting. We opened landmarks like treasure chests. A Santorini-inspired coastal sim with whitewashed walls and sapphire water. A secluded tropical island where the sand looks airbrushed. A snowy alpine retreat with fur throws and fireplaces that flicker like they know secrets.

I came, I saw, I overspent!

I told myself I was “just going to look.” This is a lie we all tell. Looking turned into clicking, clicking turned into demos, demos turned into “well, it’s 60% off, I’d be irresponsible not to,” and suddenly I’m sprinting store to store like a woman possessed by bargain spirits. Somewhere between the third coat and the fifth pair of boots, time just stopped existing. Hunger vanished. Logic left the grid.

Will I remember everything I bought? No. Will I rediscover half of it in three weeks and gasp like it’s a gift from my past self? Absolutely. That’s future me’s problem. Presently, I'm sitting in this car, surrounded by pixelated loot, feeling festive, fashionable, and only slightly feral.

Post-Christmas sales, you got me again. And honestly? I’d do it all over.

Purrfectly Kawaii Catmas

I spent today padding around my little Second Life home with my tail flicking and my heart doing tiny jingles. The Christmas tree is finally up, which means ornaments everywhere and zero self control. I started with the lights, because every good decision begins with sparkle. Warm glow, soft glow, the kind that makes even pixel air feel cozy.

Decorating as a neko is a full body experience. I kept batting baubles by accident, then pretending it was totally on purpose. A silver star almost became a toy. The gold ribbon definitely did. I swear the tree leaned toward me at one point, like it knew we were becoming friends.

By the time I finished, the tree was glowing, my paws were tired, and the room felt full in that quiet, happy way. I sat there for a while just looking at it, tail wrapped around me, thinking how lovely it is that even a virtual world can feel like home during the holidays.

Sleigh Tease

The moment we both grabbed the rope, our gloves brushed, and suddenly, the cold air didn’t feel so cold. Every time I leaned back to pull, I felt his eyes on me. And honestly? I didn’t mind. In fact, I may or may not have “accidentally” brushed against him a few extra times. For balance. Obviously.

At one point, he teased me that I wasn’t pulling hard enough, so I stepped closer, tugged the rope with a burst of dramatic strength, and—yes—absolutely bumped my hip against his on purpose. The look he gave me… let’s just say it warmed me more than my jumper ever could.

We tugged that sledge through snowdrifts, laughing, flirting, pretending the workout was the point. It wasn’t.

The Great Broomstick Blunder!

So there I was — soaring through the twilight sky on my trusty broom, feeling absolutely witch-tacular. The wind was perfect, my spells were shimmering, and my playlist was giving major “main character in a midnight movie” vibes.

And then… BAM. Apparently, trees don’t get out of the way for witches.

I may or may not have miscalculated a turn (thanks to a slightly too-strong pumpkin spice potion), and let’s just say my broomstick and a very stubborn oak tree became close friends. There were sparkles, there were screams, and now there are leaves — in places no leaves should ever be.

But listen — if you’re going to crash and burn, you better do it in style.

Autumn Stroll

Autumn has arrived or is arriving for some of you. I'm loving watching the colours of leaves change; I do love autumn as a time for cosy sweaters, booties, jeans, and warm drinks.

I have a few silly Autumn traditions I enjoy, such as crunching through leaf piles (I can no longer easily jump in them), even picking up leaves nicknamed 'helicopters' in the UK and tossing them over a height or bridge to see how far they can go.

Fueled by Coffee

One of my fave cold drinks has to be Iced Coffee or Coffee Frappuccino with an extra shot of coffee. I do like hot coffee now and again, but there's something about it, whether iced or as a Frappuccino with extra coffee, that really hits the spot.  Naturally, Seren has an Iced Coffee Boba, so she is most certainly fueled by coffee and maybe a little anxiety.
